The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley would like to acknowledge our sponsors from 2011 who made the 4th of July parade possible. Through their support, the Club was able to raise over $60,000 in difficult economic times and then pass those contributions on to worthy, local non-profits.
The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley began soliciting sponsorships for the Danville 4th of July Parade in the mid-1990's as a means of funding the Club's Grants Program. Since then more than $500,000 has been awarded through the Kiwanis Grants Program benefiting nearly 70 non-profit organizations in the Tri-Valley area.
Repeat recipients include the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, Museum of San Ramon Valley, Down Syndrome Connection, Discovery Counseling Center, Food Bank of Contra Costa, Hospice of the East Bay, Taylor Family Foundation, Meals on Wheels and Monument Crisis Center. A more extensive list of recipients is included on our Grants page at www.kiwanis-srv.org/grants.asp.
Every year Kiwanis receives 35 to 40 grant applications for committee review, including 7 to 10 new applications. All applicants must be IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and priority is given to organizations whose mission serves the residents of the San Ramon Valley and nearby areas.
ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the net donations raised through Parade Sponsorships are returned to the community through the San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Foundation.
