Sponsorship Opportunities for the

53rd Annual Kiwanis Danville
Fourth Of July Parade
July 4, 2012

Please take this opportunity to consider a 2012 Sponsorship of the 53rd Annual Kiwanis Danville Fourth of July Parade in Danville, CA.

Benefits for each level of sponsorship are listed below, though we believe you will find the overwhelming benefit of sponsorship to be the opportunity of supporting the worthy organizations which are recipients of our Kiwanis grants, including a partial list included below.

All Parade sponsorship monies are dedicated to the programs of the San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Foundation, and 100% of sponsorship net proceeds are returned to charitable causes in the Tri-Valley Community each year.

All sponsorship donations are tax deductable as promotional/advertising expenses by businesses or as charitable donations by individuals, to the extent permitted by law. The San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Charity, and our IRS number is TIN 27-0244834.

More information about the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley and the 53rd Annual Kiwanis Danville Fourth of July Parade and this sponsorship opportunity, is available to you by contacting John Lineweaver, Kiwanis Fundraising and Grants Chairperson, at fundraising@kiwanis-srv.org

THANK YOU TO THE 2011 PARADE SPONSORS

The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley would like to acknowledge our sponsors from 2011 who made the 4th of July parade possible. Through their support, the Club was able to raise over $60,000 in difficult economic times and then pass those contributions on to worthy, local non-profits.

Our Generous Sponsors for 2011

WHY ARE SPONSORS NEEDED?

The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley began soliciting sponsorships for the Danville 4th of July Parade in the mid-1990's as a means of funding the Club's Grants Program.  Since then more than $500,000 has been awarded through the Kiwanis Grants Program benefiting nearly 70 non-profit organizations in the Tri-Valley area.

Repeat recipients include the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, Museum of San Ramon Valley, Down Syndrome Connection, Discovery Counseling Center, Food Bank of Contra Costa, Hospice of the East Bay, Taylor Family Foundation, Meals on Wheels and Monument Crisis Center. A more extensive list of recipients is included on our Grants page at www.kiwanis-srv.org/grants.asp.

Every year Kiwanis receives 35 to 40 grant applications for committee review, including 7 to 10 new applications. All applicants must be IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and priority is given to organizations whose mission serves the residents of the San Ramon Valley and nearby areas.

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the net donations raised through Parade Sponsorships are returned to the community through the San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Foundation.

THE PARADE

There has been a 4th of July Parade in Danville since 1958 when the first Hay Days Festival and parade was launched.  Since 1975, members of the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley have organized and conducted the parade.

In recent years, the parade has drawn 40,000 to 50,000 attendees and has featured up to 150 entries, including bands and floats, marching down Hartz Avenue in Danville.

The parade route extends the length of Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard from San Ramon Valley High School at Love Lane to Sycamore Valley Boulevard.  The parade route is lined with valley residents and features a reviewing stand where banners listing all Diamond, Platinum and Media sponsors are displayed.

Entrants and participants in past parades have included the NBC11 Float, Wells Fargo Stage Coach, Concord Blue Devils, Blue Star Moms, Devil Mountain Brigade, Sycamore Lawnmower Brigade, Tassajara 4-H Club, Forest Home Historical Park, and numerous Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Girl Scout and youth sports groups.

WHAT IS KIWANIS?

The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley is a community service organization founded in 1956. The Club is the only San Ramon Valley-wide service club and is comprised of local business leaders and community residents who enjoy good fellowship, building enduring friendships and helping local organizations and individuals by conducting Community Service Projects.  Club members are also involved in a Grants Program, which awards competitive grants to area non-profits.  The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley has organized and conducted the Danville 4th of July Parade since 1975.

The San Ramon Valley club is a member of Kiwanis International, whose motto is "Serving the Children of the World".  Since the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley started its Grants Program in the mid-nineties, it has awarded grants totaling more than $500,000 to local community non-profit organizations.

Non-Profit Status

In 2010, the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley formed the SAN RAMON VALLEY KIWANIS FOUNDATION which was granted non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Charity Status by the IRS.  The Foundation's Tax ID Number is 27-0244834.

Sponsors can choose to deduct their donations as business advertising/promotion expenses or those who are eligible can deduct their donations as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law.

All donations should be made payable to the San Ramon Valley Kiwanis Foundation.
